Tucked away in a residential area near Kofu Station, Cafe&bar Kisaragi is a captivating establishment blending local history, artisanal drinks, and warm atmosphere. As I made my way to Takeda Shrine, a small lantern outside instantly piqued my curiosity, leading me inside this hidden gem.
The interior was remarkable – a renovated warehouse space with lofty ceilings, intimate counter seating downstairs, and additional upstairs areas. The musician-owner welcomed me with hospitality and knowledge of the local area. He discussed ancient cemeteries, the high-speed rail project, and the storied Takeda clan. Enjoying an Oden soup and Maker’s Mark Highball, I learned the bar had been a renovated warehouse, now hosting regulars and famous visitors who left autographs on the walls.
The cozy yet refined atmosphere, combined with the owner’s passion for music and hospitality, made Cafe&bar Kisaragi a memorable discovery. Details like the intriguing lantern outside, the Suntory beer master figurine, and the eclectic decor enhanced the experience (as seen in the provided images). I look forward to returning and further exploring Kofu’s hidden gems.
